Associate Chaplain of Protestant Community
Rev. Delphain Demosthenes
​Reverend Delphain (Del) Demosthenes is a licensed certified social worker and ordained minister in the American Baptist Churches of USA.
He received a BA in Biblical Studies from Nyack College, a Master of Divinity from The Divinity School at Yale University, and a Master of Social Work from New York University.
Reverend Demosthenes has counseled a wide range of clients including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In addition to his role as chaplain at Brown, he serves as senior pastor at Memorial Baptist Church in Seekonk, Massachusetts.

Sophia Stone
Sophia is an accomplished and energetic community-based educator, researcher, musician, and strategic planner. She has extensive experience as a creative branding, marketing, and business development consultant.
Sophia is particularly concerned with issues of empowering traditionally disenfranchised populations, irrespective of background and national origin, to become full participants in and contributors to a healthy economy.
Sophia remains passionate about music and has recorded: Celebrating His Essence: Soulful Piano Praises (2004) and Suficiente: Enough, Piano Instrumental (2014). She facilitates professional development training on the following topics: The Art of Communication, Leadership in Action, Exploding Cultural Dynamics, and Other Stereotypes. Sophia is steadfast, tenacious, and precise. She loves helping people and believes all most people need is a little encouragement!

Zhengyuan(Ray) Liu
​Being a graduate student at Brown University, Ray found Protestants at Brown a vibrant and welcoming community to be a part of. He utilizes his specialty in digital social media to bring physical meetings, gatherings, and services online so people can enjoy the same happiness whenever and wherever they are.

Donnell Best
​Donnell Best is a vocalist and trained violinist from the Spice Island of Grenada.
He migrated to Boston to pursue a Bachelor of Music at Berklee College of Music. Since then, he has managed and directed numerous musical productions and projects, including a successful solo career.
​
Best has also worked and shared the stage with various national and international superstars, such as Beres Hammond, Busy Signal, Akua Naru, and Harry Belafonte.
He currently tours the East Coast of the United States, performing at various events and festivals as a vocalist and violinist.

Faith Hardy
Faith Hardy is a NYC native, recent Brown alum Co’23, and graduate student in the Master in Public Health program.
She has a lot of experience working in student organizations and departments at Brown, including holding roles in the School of Public Health and Brown Center for Students of Color.
She loves singing and music, theatre, and all things health promotion. She is very excited about what’s to come in the Protestant community at Brown.

Hongyu(Jasmine) Zhu
Hongyu Jasmine Zhu (she/her) calls
Chengdu, China home. She is a first-year undergraduate at Brown, with intentions to study literature and philosophy.
She finds joy in making music with words and sounds, translating literature, learning to cook Sichuan cuisine, walking and watching leaves, reading picture books, writing letters, and journeying down a river with her kayak Flying Fish. She is lucky to be in music together with the Protestant community at Brown!
